Volunteers needed!

Training begins this fall for volunteers interested in leading nature hikes with kids at Martin Griffin Preserve in West Marin and Bouverie Preserve in the Sonoma Valley. Core training in environmental education practices and local natural history provided.

Fire Forward

Good fire builds natural resilience against climate-change driven wildfires. We conduct site visits and prescribed burns, and provide mentorship and training.

Our research and education program Living with Lions studies mountain lions in Sonoma, Napa, and Marin to better understand how mountain lions are faring in the North Bay and provide residents and visitors with resources to safely co-exist with them.

Healthy birds, healthy ecosystems

Healthy birds are a sign of a healthy ecosystem. We study shorebirds and waterbirds that overwinter on Tomales Bay to strengthen conservation efforts and guide policy.
