Take a sound walk through the four canyons of Martin Griffin Preserve

Callers awaiting to connect with us will be greeted by “Four Canyons” soundscape recorded and donated by Gina Farr. Learn more about Gina’s work at http://wildsoundstories.com

“Four Canyons” is a sound walk through the four canyons of Martin Griffin Preserve, with their falling streams, seeping wetlands and deep stands of towering redwoods. Mornings can be surprising with any of the 245 species of birds and mammals who live in and visit the canyons. In spring, the sounds of raucous red-winged blackbirds and resident ravens echo across Picher Canyon; while next door, in Volunteer Canyon, the hum of human history blends seamlessly with natureʼs song artists. Garden Club Canyon features newt-filled Parsonʼs Pond, while the more introspective Pike County Gulch hides its denizens in an alder bog.
