Johnathen Carmona is a Stewardship Apprentice at the Martin Griffith Preserve. He began his career as a conservation intern and later advanced to a crew leader position in the East Bay with Civicorps, a conservation corps based in West Oakland. He has experience managing natural resources, habitat restoration, and trail work. Johnathen recently graduated from The Watershed Research and Training Center’s Wildland Fire Fighter II academy and has the goal to take his experiences in conservation and knowledge from indigenous stewardship with him on prescribed burns.
