Prescribed Fire Practitioner Quillan Hill began his career in forestry and fire in 2012 as an EMT/Firefighter with a volunteer fire department in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Since then, he has been dedicated to creating both fire-adapted communities and fire-resilient landscapes through his work. His experience includes serving on wildfire fuels crews in Austin, Texas, and Sonoma County, and most recently with California State Parks' Wildfire and Forest Resilience Program, where he helped put good fire to the landscapes of the Sonoma-Mendocino Coast. When he's not working, Quillan enjoys exploring western Sonoma County with his wife, Caitie, their two children, Arlo and Jude, and their dog, Reggie, often turning over rotten logs in search of salamanders and other signs of the region's rich biodiversity.
